Follow Friday #9

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It is a great opportunity to find new blogs to follow and gain new followers ourselves. The main rule here is someone follows you, you follow back. That's the nice thing to do.

So, here is this week's featured question:

Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought, This is going to be horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.
After Tupac and D Foster
I read this book as part of my Newbery challenge, but wasn't terribly interested in it at first. The cover didn't really call out to me. It is not one that I would have chosen on my own. But, I ended up loving it. Woodson is a fabulously talented writer, and I now seek out all her books. Aaaaaaand, I'll get the chance to meet her in August, when she comes to my town to accept an award and do a book signing!! Yay!!

So, how about you? What book taught you not to judge a book by its cover? If you are a new follower, leave me a link and let me know so I can follow you back!! :)

Haven't heard of that one! Haven't really come across a cover that I hated. Some worried me, others were kind of meh. But the inside is always so good!!

You're right, not only is the cover unappealing, but the title is a little estrange as well. I'm glad you like it!

Congrats on the chance to meet the author and you're right the cover can easily be passed up if one is such in a whirlwind inside the book shop. My FF.

That cover isn't very attractive. I wouldn't have picked it up!

The cover is alright, I guess... I can't imagine that it would really jump out at you on the shelves though. Still, the book sounds interesting! :) Have fun in August!
