Feature and Follow Friday

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It is such a great way for bloggers to find great new blogs to follow and new gain new followers for their own blogs!

This week's featured blogger is Fran from Book Chowdown! Go check out her blog and show her some blogger love!

Now for this week's question:

Q: What would you prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

Ok, obviously this is a tough question for us book lovers. But, I will have to be honest and say that I would rather read hundreds of mediocre books. Number one because I wouldn't ever want to become "sick" of my favorites - I want them to remain on the pedestals they live on! Number 2 because I RARELY re-read anything (I get bored too easily) and I would much rather have the variety. Besides, what others consider mediocre, I may find great - who knows!

So, tell me which you'd prefer. And let me know if you are a new follower and leave me a link so I can return the follow! :) Happy hopping!

This is almost exactly what I said! I prefer variety to rereading the same book to the point of not ever wanting to look at it. That would be just sad.

My answer was to read my favorite book over and over again. I found every time I re-read my favorite(s), I find something new I love about it. Also, it let's me dive back into my fave book boyfriend(s). =)

Exactly the same answer - I would love to read hundreds rather than just one.

Jessica @ a GREAT read said...

True, true. I never have time to re-read something because I have a stack--well 3 really, plus a separate kindle stack--of books to read! There's always something new waiting for me. But if I know in advance that the next 100 books I read are going to be mediocre, I'd rather read a fave a 100x over! Not that that was the situation being called for! I don't think I would really get sick of something, but after the 12th time in a row or so, I would probably want something that I didn't know backwards and forwards!

Here's my Friday Hops

Have a GREAT weekend!

I am not a re-reader either. I think that I'd have to choose variety because I just couldn't imagine being stuck with reading the same story over and over again. Great answer and well justified!

Thank you for stopping by blog. Great response. I also had the thought that what is perceived is mediocre might not be that bad to me. I mean if it was all just fluff that wouldn't phase me too much.

I'm a new follower. I'm also getting into the field of librarianship (My dream job is to be a children's librarian :)

Great answer! I actually answered the opposite considering the mediocre books are mediocre to me too. I'm not a fan of re-reading books either though.

Your answer is similar to mine. I rarely re-reads, just because there're so many unread books out there. You never know I might find another great one in that 100 pile.

Hopping through. I'd hate to get sick of my favorites, but it's so hard to read mediocre books. Tough choice.

Sometimes I find difficult to reread and as you express people have different preferences and maybe something I don't like is a treasure for someone else. I prefer good books, but I like to adventure so sometimes I find some bad ones.

Thanks for follow!I'm following back!
