No, I really don't skip parts of a book....I might "skim" though...by that I mean, if a part is getting boring, I'll read over it really fast and not take the time to really absorb what I'm reading. But, I can't bring myself to actually skip. I'm afraid I'll miss something important. And, I think I WOULD feel really bad about it if I did. I'm just weird like that. And, I could never go straight to the end of a book to see what happens. It takes all the fun out of it!!
So, how about you? Are you a skipper? Or a skimmer? Or none of the above?

This is such a hugely debated topic! I yell at my best friend all the time who reads the end of the book first to make sure she isn't "wasting her time only for it to end in a way she doesn't like". And she reads twice as much as me!
I love the element of surprise. If I'm reading a series, I won't read the backs of the next books because I don't want any surprises ruined!
I agree though, I can't skip. I don't even really skim. I take forever to read a book because I devour every word.
Great post! Sorry for the blabbering lol.
I can't skip. I would feel like I'm probably missing out in something important. Not much of a skimmer either. I like to be surprised. I do skim a bit when I'm shopping for books at a bookstore or maybe at a library and trying to find a good book to read. But I don't like spoilers so I try to keep it at a minimal and kinda stick to the blurbs on the back or front of a book to get an idea of what it's about.
Nice post! :)
here's mine : http://totallybookedsolid.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday_19.html I'm with you I'm a skimmer
Thanks for the follow! I'm following back.
Definitely can't skip. I can't even skim. I read every word, sometimes twice if my mind starts wandering. I never want to know what happens. The journey is way too much fun.
Like you, I skim throuh the boring parts, but I do sometimes get too anxious and read the last page of the book. I know it's bad, but I can't help myself! :D
Sometimes I read to the end of a chapter. Or if I'm a few lines above, my eyes will drift to lower down on the page. XD I never look to the end though because they should be savoured until the END.
I only skip if the writing is really descriptive (and by this I mean paragraphs upon paragraphs) and I just want to get to the action. :P
